I am not so much a baker. But while trolling my fav craft/creative/design blogs late one night while feeding the monkey, I came upon this seemingly simple recipe for muffins from
Prudent Baby that looked both delicious and like something even I could handle.
Right on both accounts. I've made them almost every weekend since discovering them and now I even share! (1st time I ate 6 out of 8 ... I rationalized this intake with the old 'breastfeeding burns an extra 500 calories a day' ...)
You MUST make these. (I used Bonne Maman Framboises & Apricot Jam. I never saw this flavor in the states - only in Zurich ... amazing!)
birth announcement: check (with 3 months to spare!)
I have threatened to start this blog for a while now. Now I can cross one thing off my 2010 to-do list. Fantastic.
After much debating (with myself mostly) and going back and forth (again w/me) and procrastination (yup - all me) I finally decided what to do for E's birth announcements and am proud to say that even without the proper - or at least what I wanted to use to create them - programs, I was able to get pretty close to what I had envisioned.
The printing is not great and I keep thinking of things I might have done differently but I have now promised to shut up, look at that sweet baby face looking up at her name and know that these are lovely.
(And while I feel like these are going out v. late, apparently one has up to 6 months to send out birth announcements ... so really, I am ahead of the game. Fantastic.)
